Nights with Peers and Community
All 7th and 8th grade REfuel students are required to attend Edge nights.
The goal of Edge is for each child to encounter Christ, make lasting friendships, and grow in the life of the Church.
We strategically model each event with purposeful structure and transitions to assist students to connect with their faith alongside their community of peers. An event would include a variety of social time and spiritual substance that will reach each child where they are in their adolescent spiritual journey.
These events are typically scheduled every Monday evening of the month that Night of Light, which is also a REfuel requirement, is not scheduled. Keep an eye on the calendar.

Homework When Assigned

This homework is required of any REfuel student who has missed 3+ Edge nights in one semester. This is essentially a "choose your own adventure". Each student chooses from the videos that are on Formed.org, so they can focus on the topics that are most intriguing to them.
Formed.org is a website with hundreds of faith-related videos about just about any topic, which St. Vincent's gives us access to for free. Our big-picture hope is that your child's interest will be piqued by what they see, and then they're connected to a great resource to keep learning about their faith into their high school years.
The homework needs to be turned within a week of when it was assigned. For planning purposes, this will take about 1 1/2 hours to complete, which is how long one Edge night typically lasts.HOMEWORK STEPS

REfuel Attendance Policy
We understand that conflicts may arise; however, attendance is an important requirement. Your child is allowed to miss the following amounts of meetings.
- Nights of Light: 1 per semester
- Edge: 3 per semester
After they have missed that many, you will be sent make-up homework for them to complete. It is highly recommended that you make attendance a priority for your child's religious education.
If your child will be missing at any time, please inform us at middleschoolministry@saintv.org.
One of us will contact you if any make-up work to complete.
