What is an oratory?
An oratory is a building that is dedicated to prayer and open to the public (and not a parish church). It is also colloquially called a chapel.
What is Adoration?
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is the name for prayer when the Eucharist (bread that has been consecrated into the Body and Blood of Jesus) is visible. The Eucharist is placed in a monstrance (display stand) to be visible for prayer. If that is confusing or strange to you, learn a little more about it here.
Do you need to be Catholic to pray in the oratory?
Certainly not! Anyone is welcome to come and pray in the oratory.
Can I pray in the oratory if I'm not signed up?
Yes! The devotion of those who commit to a holy hour makes it possible for the oratory to be open at all times, so that anyone can come and pray at any time.
What if weekly is too much for me? Are there other options for committing to an hour?
We also have biweekly (every other week) or monthly options. Simply choose that option when you sign up.
What if I am traveling or sick over my scheduled hour?
The first option would be to ask a friend to cover for you. Otherwise, contact your adoration prayer partner and make sure that he or she will be present when you are away.
When is the oratory locked?
For the safety of committed adorers, the oratory locks at 10:00 PM and opens again at 5:00 AM. Those who have holy hours during that time and those who request are given a fob that allows access.
What if I just want to be a substitute for an hour periodically?
Being a sub is a great help (especially during the night hours). To do so follow the sign-up instructions and choose a time frame for which you are available to substitute.
Can anyone come to Mass in the oratory?
Yes. All are welcome (5:30 PM on Fridays). We are no longer requiring a sign-up for this Mass.
What does it all mean?
You can learn more about the imagery of the Oratory here.

Our adoration software allows you to sign up for weekly, bi-weekly (every other week), or monthly commitments!
Go to: saintv.weadorehim.com "log in" and then "create one now." Enter your contact information. If you'd like to be notified of substitute requests, click the hours that you are available on a daily basis; otherwise, unclick "notify me of sub-requests."
Click "create account" at the bottom of the box. The adoration schedule for this week will open for you; click the hour you'd like to adore, enter the frequency (weekly, biweekly/every other week, monthly) and whether or not you'd like a reminder message, then click "sign up."
To request a substitute for your holy hour, visit saintv.weadorehim.com and click "login."
Enter your name and password, then click "my dashboard" from the "We Adore Him" homepage. Click "request substitute" next to the date on which you need a sub. The contact information for your adoration partner(s) appears in this step; notify them and make sure that they will be there---it is acceptable to have only one adorer present in the short term. This saves our small number of subs for those times they are most needed! If neither scheduled adorer can be present, complete the sub request. It will be sent out to the sub list when the date is one week away, and you will receive a notification when it has been accepted. You may visit your dashboard to make sure that you've sent the request and see when it has been accepted.
